Know What is at Stake

Your child’s education. Your family’s choice.

The freedom to find the right fit matters.

Educational choice gives Wisconsin families the opportunity to find a school where their child can learn, belong and thrive. Decisions made by elected leaders can affect parental choice programs and the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP).

What could be at risk:

  • Parental choice. The ability to choose the educational setting to fit your child’s unique needs.
  • Special needs scholarships. Access to the SNSP for students with disabilities.
  • Access for more families. Enrollment limits can restrict how many students may participate.
  • School independence. Ask candidates how they would protect private schools’ educational mission and curriculum autonomy.

The playbook is written. Your child’s education is on the line.

Proposals to phase out the Special Needs Scholarship Program and Wisconsin’s parental choice programs have been introduced before. While our efforts have helped stop those proposals, they underscore what is at stake: families could lose access to the schools they chose for their children.

Don’t wait until your options disappear.

  1. Get informed. Review candidates’ positions and voting records on school choice.
  2. Ask directly. Contact candidates and your legislators about protecting special needs scholarships and school choice.
  3. Share your story. Explain why educational choice matters to your family or school.

Educate yourself. Ask questions.
