Wisconsin Act 89: Policy and Training Requirements for Communication between Employees/Volunteers and Students On March 6, 2026, Governor Evers signed 2025 Wisconsin Act 89 into law. This new law requires all Wisconsin schools, including private schools, to adopt a policy and provide annual trainings for governing school employee and volunteer communications with students. The policy must be in effect by September 1, 2026. Wisconsin Act 57: Parental Notification of Alleged Sexual Misconduct by a School Staff Member Recently, Governor Evers signed Assembly Bill 74 (AB 74), now known as 2025 Wisconsin Act 57, which mandates additional reporting requirements for incidents of sexual misconduct. This new law is effective immediately, and all schools must ensure they are meeting all compliance obligations.
